As you tune in to CNN’s election coverage Monday morning, here are the 19 races that have yet to be called.
At-Large District of Alaska: Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola was the surprise winner of a special election in August to succeed the late GOP Rep. Don Young. She is in a rematch with former Governor Sarah Palin, the 2008 GOP running mate, and Republican businessman Nick Begich in her bid for a full term.
Arizona: As of Saturday evening, around 290,000 votes remained to be counted. Two of Arizona’s nine House races remain unnamed Sunday afternoon
- Arizona’s 1st District –Six-term GOP Rep. David Schweikert, who had previously been reprimanded by the House for ethics violations, is locked in a close race with Democrat Jevin Hodge for that redesigned and renumbered Phoenix-area seat.
- Arizona’s 6th District – Republican Juan Ciscomani, a former senior adviser to Gov. Doug Ducey, and Democrat Kirsten Engel, a former state senator, are vying for this redesigned and renumbered district that covers southeastern Arizona and includes parts of Tucson.
California has 10 unnamed races: CNN has not yet predicted who will win California’s 34th district, but counts it in the Democrats total because both candidates are Democrats.) These include races in the 3rd district, 9th district, 13th district , the 21st district, the 22nd district, the 27th District, 41st district, 45th district, 47th district, 49th district.
Colorado: He won an eighth seat in the redistribution after the 2020 census. Two races remain unsettled.
- Colorado’s 3rd District – Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert finds herself in a surprisingly close race for her Western Slope district that turned redder in redistricting. His Democratic opponent is Adam Frisch, a former Aspen city councilman, and an automatic recount is possible.
- Colorado’s 8th District – Democratic State Rep. Yadira Caraveo and Republican State Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer were vying for that new seat north of Denver. Biden would have won by less than 5 points in 2020. CNN did not project in that race, although Kirkmeyer did concede to Caraveo.
2nd district of Maine: The state, like Alaska, uses ranked ballots to decide its winners in federal elections. In the 2nd arrondissement, Democratic Rep. Jared Golden and former Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin could have their races decided by the state’s ranked voting system for the second time. Neither the candidate nor the independent Tiffany Bond had won 50% of the vote on Sunday afternoon for a district that covers a large part of the state north of Portland.
2nd District of New Mexico: Republican Representative Yvette Herrell is following Democrat Gabe Vasquez in his bid for a second term representing a district that now includes parts of southern and western New Mexico and has become more Democratic in the redistricting. While Herrell has conceded the run, CNN has yet to make a showing.
The 22nd district of New York: Republican Brandon Williams and Democrat Francis Conole, both Navy veterans, are vying for this redesigned central New York neighborhood. It’s an open seat that Biden would have carried by less than 8 points.
Oregon’s 6th District: Elections are conducted entirely by correspondence. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and can be received up to seven days later. The state got a new seat in the House in the redistricting. Democratic state Rep. Andrea Salinas and Republican businessman Mike Erickson are vying for the new district, which includes Salem. Biden would have carried it by 13 points in 2020.
