A large number of AIADMK executives gathered here today and organized a demonstration requiring the immediate arrest of the culprits, who, according to the police, had damaged the statue on October 5.
Distinct police teams have been trained to trace and reach the culprits, said the official.
Expressing the shock, the secretary general of the AIADMK, Edappadi K Palaniswami, said that the incident was “deeply regrettable”.

In an article on the social media platform ‘X’ Palaniswami urged the government of Tamil Nadu and the police to take rapid measures and to arrest the “anti-social elements that try to disrupt public peace” by engaging in such acts.
