Timothée Chalamet and director Josh Safdie just went on stage on Monday at the New York Film Festival to surprise the crowd, announcing that their new film Supreme Marty would be screened this evening during its world premiere.
This decision comes as the Nyff made the crowd sit for a “secret projection”. It was then that Chalamet and Safdie left behind the scenes under the applause.
See their entries below.
A24 Supreme Marty features Chalamet in the role of Marty Mauser in a film taking place in the world of the ping-pong of the 1950s. Mauser is a man with a dream that no one respects, who goes in hell and returns in search of grandeur. Although this has never been confirmed, sources have long indicated that the project is freely inspired by the history of the professional ping-pong player Marty Reisman.
Gwyneth Paltrow Shares the show and codirige a casting including Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher and Sandra Bernhard.
Safdie made from a written script with Ronald Bronstein. Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Chalamet and A24 are producers.
Supreme Marty should go out in theaters on Christmas Day.
