Mark Sanchez, former quarter-arre of the NFL, accused of crime on the altercation of Indianapolis

Former quarter of the NFL Mark Sanchez was accused of a crime for a violent altercation in Indianapolis this weekend, officials announced on Monday.

Sanchez was accused of battery involving serious bodily injuries, journalists told journalists, journalists the Marion County prosecutor told journalists. If he is convicted, Sanchez would exercise a sentence between one and six years old, said Mears.

Sanchez, who has been NFL game analyst for Fox Sports since 2021, was hospitalized with several stabs after the early Saturday morning altercation. The Sheriff’s Bureau of Marion County told CBS News that Sanchez had been treated at the hospital, where he received treatment and had since paid guarantees. A first judicial hearing for Sanchez scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled, and the next hearing was scheduled for November 5, according to online judicial archives.

The incident came from what Mears described as a dispute in the place where a man was parked.

“It was a situation that didn’t need to happen,” said Mears. “The allegations imply that a 38 -year -old man is involved in an altercation with a 69 -year -old man who suffered significant and very serious injuries.”

Mears said the investigation was still in its early days and that additional accusations could be filed.

Sanchez also faces several charges of offense, including a battery, causing injuries, public poisoning and an illegal entry of a vehicle, the authorities said in a statement.

“It was a deeply painful period for all those involved,” Nick Sanchez, Mark’s brother, in a statement on behalf of the family on Monday.

“Mark and our family are incredibly grateful to the concern, love and support that we have received in recent days,” said Nick Sanchez. “Mark remains under medical care for the serious injuries he has suffered and focuses on his recovery while the judicial process continues. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the first stakeholders and medical staff.”

The other man involved in the altercation works for catering technologies, a company based in Minnesota which recycles and eliminates commercial cooking oil, according to the company and the court documents. The man, identified in an affidavit for a probable cause like PT, was in a truck in an alley which was supported in a loading area for a Westin hotel when the incident took place.

PT later told the police that Sanchez had said that he could not be at the loading quay, according to the Affidavit. He initially thought that Sanchez could be the director of the hotel because he was well dressed, said the court document. When PT leaned closer to Sanchez to try to hear him better because he did not wear his hearing aids, he told the police that Sanchez would have felt alcohol and that his speech had been informed.

When PT said he tried to call for his mobile phone, Sanchez was blocked, according to the Affidavit. He then tried to enter the truck on the passenger side, but Sanchez would also have blocked it there. When PT tried to penetrate the driver’s side again, Sanchez pushed it, said the court document.

PT said that it had sprayed Sanchez with peppery gas in the face, according to Affidavit. Sanchez wiped his face and then advanced to humans, continued the document.

“This guy is trying to kill me,” PT told the police what he thought at the time.

He said he had released a knife and stabbed Sanchez two or three times when Sanchez came to him, said the court document. PT told the police that he had stolen into a garbage dumpster and came across the ground pallets.

“While he was on the ground, PT was not aware of what Mr. Sanchez did to him physically, that he struck him or struck him differently,” said the Affidavit. “While PT was on the ground, he could only see the feet of Mr. Sanchez coming to him, making it realize that he was in a situation of life or death.”

He told the police that he had rushed to his feet and stabbed Sanchez once again.

PT reminded the police that Sanchez looked shocked when he turned slowly and took off, according to the Affidavit.

The document said that the man had undergone serious laceration on the side of his face.

Sanchez agent Andrew Kessler previously told CBS News that Sanchez was in a stable state and recovered in a hospital.
