Man tried to hijack vehicle with baby inside: police

Toronto police say a man is in custody after trying to hijack a vehicle with a baby inside Friday night.

It happened around 9:17 p.m. in the Coxwell Avenue and Hanson Street area.

Police said a knife-wielding man tried to take the car with a baby inside, but was thwarted by a passerby who came to the driver’s aid.

Police arrived and took the suspect into custody, recovering a knife.
