Man rescued from Saskatoon garbage truck – Saskatoon

The Saskatoon Fire Department said it rescued a man who was trapped in the bin of a garbage truck at 5:45 a.m. Friday.

The garbage truck driver heard the man scream and the truck stopped around the 200 block of 1st Avenue South. The man was later found on the truck camera.

Firefighters said the man was not injured, but needed help to get out of the trash can.

No power tools were needed and the fire department said it was unsure whether the person was homeless or looking through the bin for recyclables.

The man was handed over to the ambulance service for evaluation.
