Man dead after head-on crash on Highway 401 in Pickering
A 55-year-old man died following an accident involving several vehicles on the highway. 401 in Pickering Friday morning.
sergeant. Kerry Schmidt, spokesperson for the Ontario Provincial Police Highway Division, said in a tweet that it happened just after 5 a.m. on the highway. 401 westbound near Brock Road.
One of the three vehicles involved in the crash was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it « collided head-on with another vehicle, » Schmidt said.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the oncoming vehicle and a third driver were taken to hospital.
Highway. The westbound 401 near Brock Road is closed for investigation. The lanes are expected to reopen at 1 p.m., according to a Tweet from the Ontario Provincial Police.
