Man charged after woman shopped at Vaughan store was sexually assaulted: police – Toronto


A 57-year-old man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Vaughan, Ont., police say.

York Regional Police said around noon on August 24, police received a report of a sexual assault at 1 Bass Pro Mills Drive.

Police say a 27-year-old woman was out shopping with her children when a stranger started talking to her.

Officers said the man allegedly took a picture of the woman and her children, then grabbed the victim and « touched her in a sexual way ».

According to the police, no physical injuries were suffered by the victim or his children.

Police said Sunilbhai Modi, 57, of Brampton, had been arrested.

He was charged with sexual assault.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
