Man arrested after fighting with NYPD officers, throwing like ‘a rag doll’


A man who fought with two NYPD officers trying to stop him from blocking traffic at a Brooklyn intersection was arrested on Tuesday, police said.

Zayan Shar, 21, was charged with assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct filmed fight Friday afternoon at Avenue H and Flatbush Avenue in South Midwood near Brooklyn College, according to the NYPD.

Shar ignored officers’ orders to leave the intersection and began fighting with the couple after they tried to arrest her, cops said.

Video of the incident shows the suspect throwing one of the cops into the middle of the road.

Police said the officer who was pushed to the ground was also punched in the face and had swelling and bruising. The other officer was not injured.

Joseph Giacalone, a retired NYPD sergeant and assistant professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, told The Post that police seemed afraid to use any kind of force on the job due to New York City policies. York.

Giacalone said the officers were lucky.

“It could have ended very badly for them. Forget the embarrassed part, I speak dead,” he said. “This kid could have done anything he wanted. He threw that cop away like he was a rag doll.
