Lyons. Series of shootings at La Duchère in the spring: seven arrests this Wednesday

In a press release, the Lyon public prosecutor’s office reveals, this Wednesday evening, details of the arrest which took place on the night of October 11, 2022:

Two individuals, « suspected of taking action again », were riding a scooter when they were arrested by the services of the Lyon BRI. The driver was arrested while his passenger fled, shooting at a police officer.

He retaliated by shooting twice. The fugitive was finally neutralized, after trying to get rid of his weapon. Fortunately, no one was injured in the operation.

Five other individuals were arrested in connection with the same case.

Kalashnikovs and grenade

Searches were carried out during which two Kalashnikovs, a grenade, but also several handguns and ammunition were found.

From now on, the investigations are in the hands of the investigating magistrate of the specialized interregional jurisdiction (JIRS).
