Residents of the western town of Rivne were ordered to « stay in shelters » while electricians worked to restore power throughout the town, the head of the region’s military administration, Vitaliy Koval, said. on Telegram.
South of Rivne in Khmelnytskyi, the city council reported that the entire town was without power after a series of explosions.
« Please stock up on water, if possible, as it will also be gone in an hour, » the council wrote on Telegram.
Parts of Lutsk – in far western Ukraine – were left without power due to an impact on an energy facility there, Mayor Ihor Polishchuk said. He said rescuers were working to find someone injured and one civilian had been burned in the blast, but no one appeared to have been killed.
An attack on an energy facility in the Kropyvnytskyi region of central Ukraine also left residents of that region and the nearby town of Cherkasy without power, according to officials from the military administrations of both regions.
