She may never be a princess, but she’s definitely a little drama queen.
A 5-year-old schoolgirl has been filmed crying hysterically as she realizes she won’t grow up to be a princess – and instead should be doing ‘boring chores’ like her mum. A video of the disillusioned youngster of Scotland’s epic collapse is currently going viral as viewers sympathize with her plight.
« I thought it was hilarious that a five-year-old could worry about such things, » Catherine Stafford-Grimley, 25, told Kennedy News of her child’s « dramatic » reaction.
The Erskine resident said the breakdown happened after her daughter Órla McEvity saw her cleaning the house and asked her why she was doing it.
When mum explained that adults have to do chores, the youngster launched a tantrum for the ages.
« I explained that when you grow up you have to do housework, so she freaked out and realized it was no fun being an adult, » Stafford-Grimley explained. « She started getting upset once she realized growing up wasn’t all there was to it. »
She added: « She thought she was going to be a princess growing up, without doing the chores. »
In the accompanying half-minute clip, Stafford-Grimley asks his inconsolable brood why they’re « unhappy growing up. »

« Because that way I’ll have to do all the boring stuff, » little McEvity replies between sobs, adding, « I’ll have to run errands and I’ll have to do the dishes. »
The little drama queen continues, “It’s boring, isn’t it? It’s boring. »
Stafford-Grimley, who reportedly « secretly laughed inside » during the clip, says her brood has always hated doing chores.
« I guess she takes me back because I don’t particularly like doing chores, » the bemused mum explained, adding that the wannabe Cinderella once felt like she was dying after being told off to her. asked to clean his room.
In fact, McEvity would be dramatic about a lot of things. The Scot explained that after the camera stopped rolling, « she said she could never grow taller and there was a way to stop her legs from growing taller ».

« I told him we couldn’t stop growing and his legs were going to keep growing, » Stafford-Grimley explained. « I said we all have to grow up and that’s part of life and she asked why she had to be born, again very dramatic. »
She added: « Finally I reassured her and said being an adult can be so much fun, not really, but sometimes you have to tell a white lie. »
The clip was reportedly a hit with the mother’s family and friends, who advised her to save the footage for McEvity’s 18th birthday, Kennedy News reported.
« Some couldn’t stop laughing and others constantly replayed it and shared it with family and friends, » Stafford-Grimley said. « Some said they felt for Órla and wished she didn’t have to grow up either. »
In a far less funny tantrum for a toddler in 2018, a « demonic » child launched an 8-hour heart-pounding tantrum on a flight from Germany to New Jersey.
