Liam Neeson in talks for ‘Naked Gun’ reboot

Liam Neeson has shown off his special skills in countless ‘Taken’ films, but he could soon demonstrate his flair for comedy in a reboot of one of the greatest comedy film franchises of the late 1980s and early 1980s. 90s.

According The Hollywood ReporterNeeson is reportedly in talks to star in a reboot of « The Naked Gun, » the 1988 comedy that spawned two sequels, « The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear » and « The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The ultimate insult”.

The films, based on the short-lived hit TV comedy « Police Squad », starred Canadian Leslie Nielsen as bumbling cop Frank Drebin, who managed to solve cases despite his utter incompetence.

Whereas THR points out that the talks are still in their early stages, Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island is on board to lead.

During a recent interview with ET Canada’s Morgan Hoffman, Neeson revealed he was offered the « Naked Gun » reboot and expressed interest in starring in a comedy.
