Liam Coen: We want respect, but it’s up to us to take it

The jaguars experienced something on Monday evening that they had not experienced for a long time.

Their victory against the Chiefs was their first at Monday Night Football since the 2011 season and it was also only their third appearance on Monday evening since this year. This shows how much the jaguars have rarely been under the NFL spotlights, at least for positive reasons, and the wider meaning of the victory was mentioned at the press conference of head coach Liam Coen on Tuesday.

We asked Coen if winning on Monday evening the way they had done it against a team at the other end of the spectrum in terms of national attention represented a declaration game for his team.

“THE Possibility to play At great listening hours, it is certainly something that you want more as an organization, “said Coen.” As a team, you want to be able to play in these moments and have these scenes to play. We are really not so concerned about the way the rest of the league perceives us. We obviously want respect, but it is up to us to accept it. You want to be proud of what you do as a team, as an individual, as a coach, as a player, as a member of the staff. You want to be proud of what you do. In the end, I think that when you win these kinds of matches, you can be proud of how you work, how you talk, how you are a parent, how you are a father and the way you do everything. Our players now trust. There is still a lot to clean, but there is currently a lot of confidence in this building.

Winning leads to greater visibility on national television, a greater place in conversations on the state of the league and other things that lead to the kind of respect that Coen spoke on Tuesday. The jaguars do their part so far with a departure of 4-1 and a similar situation will ensure greater visibility than that to which they are used to Jacksonville.
