Kroger remembers the elements of cold meats in 28 states on possible contamination by Listeria

(NEXSTAR) – The charcuterie products sold in Kroger supermarkets were recalled among the concerns concerning a possible contamination by Listeria Monocytogenes.

The recall affects the Pesto Bowtie basil salads and the smoked Mozzarella Penne salads, according to an announcement from the company published during the weekend. The products were sold in cold meats, in weight, as well as in pre-sub-packed parts in self-service funds in 1,860 stores in 28 states, said Kroger.

Kroger launched the recall earlier this month after being informed by a supplier that pasta within salads – which were provided to the supplier by the third company, identified as Nate’s Fine Foods in Roseville, California – may have been contaminated, according to the recall alert.

Last week, Albertsons also identified Nate’s beautiful foods as the pasta supplier used in several pasta salads or ready -to -use meals that had been recalled from Albertsons locations in 15 states.

Kroger said that the salads recalled in supermarket places in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Calrado, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Meclo Texas, Utah, Washington and Virginia-Western. The markets belonging to Kroger who wore the salads include Kroger, Baker’s, City Market, Dillon, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Werches, King Soopers, Payless, Ralphs and Smith’s.

Albertsons, meanwhile, had declared that his recalled products had been sold in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. They were sold in points of sale belonging to Albertsons listed such as Albertsons, Albertsons Market, Amigos, the Community markets of Andronico, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Pak ‘N Save, Pavilions, Market Street, Randalls, Safeway, Tom Thumb, United and Vons.

None of the two companies had received complaints of adverse reactions before announcing the reminders, they said. (A representative of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was not immediately available to say if the pasta at the Kroger recall center were linked to an in -law survey on a deadly Listeria epidemic which was associated with the meals of pasta sold in several points of sale.)

The two supermarket companies had asked customers to throw the products affected or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

“Anyone concerned about a disease must contact a health care provider,” said Kroger’s announcement.

Customers with other questions can call Kroger at 1-800-Krogers or contact the range of customer services in Albertsons at 1-877-723-3929.

Listeriosis, an infection caused by Listeria Monocytogenes Bacteria of food origin, affects approximately 1,600 people each year, of which around 260 die, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Those who are most at risk are pregnant women, newborns, young children, those over 65 and those who have a weakened immune system. In pregnant women, Listeria infection can cause false layers, mortinagers or premature work.

Symptoms of Listeria infection include fever and diarrhea, as well as headache, stiff neck, nausea, loss of balance, abdominal pain, confusion and convulsions, according to the CDC and the FDA. Pregnant women, however, have lighter symptoms, says the CDC.
