ANAHEIM, Calif. — Phillip Danault broke the tie early in the third period and the Los Angeles Kings solidified their hold on a playoff berth on Tuesday, beating the Anaheim Ducks 2-1.
The former CH scored a 25th goal, taking advantage of the long rebound after a shot from Viktor Arvidsson.
Adrian Kempe also scored for the Kings, who have won three times in four games.
Jonathan Quick made 29 saves, yielding only to Adam Henrique.
Ranked third in the Pacific Division, the Kings have a cushion of five points ahead of the Knights.
LA hasn’t made the playoffs since 2018.
John Gibson stopped 26 shots for the Ducks, who play in Los Angeles on Saturday.
