Karur Stampede: Vijay will give compensation of 20 Lakh to each family of 39 victims who died in the TVK rally

At least 39 people, including women and children, lost their lives in a jostling during the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of Tamilaga Kazhagam (TVK) of Tamil Nadu, on Saturday September 27.

Vijay has been seen on a break, asking for help from the police and distributing bottles of water bus to those who feel suffocated.

PM Modi, President Murmu offer condolences

The tragedy aroused condolences from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, who expressed sorrow for the families of the victims and the prayers for the wounded.

“The unhappy incident during a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, is deeply sad. My thoughts are with families who lost their loved ones. I wish them a force in this difficult period. Praying for rapid recovery to all those who were injured,” Prime Minister Modi wrote in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

President Murmu also expressed anxiety, declaring: “I lie down my deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family and I pray for the early recovery of the wounded.”

Death and medical response

The chief minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, confirmed that 39 people, including children and 16 women, died, with more than 60 hospitalized, according to the news 18.

More than 40 doctors from Tiruchiramalli and Salem have been deployed to manage the urgency.

Dr. Santhi Rajakumari, director of medical education, told journalists that “two people admitted on September 27, had continued to stay in critical condition”, while oxygen and adequate drugs were available in government facilities, in accordance with the PTI news agency.

Saravanan’s collector confirmed to PTI that 38 bodies had been identified and that 14 had been given to their families. Efforts to identify a woman are underway.

Vijay’s first response

In his first statement following the incident, Vijay expresses his sorrow, declaring: “My heart is broken; I twist with insufficient and indescribable pain and sorrow that words cannot express.”

“I extend my greatest condolences and sympathies to the families of my dear brothers and sisters who have lost their lives in Karur. I pray for the rapid recovery of those who receive treatment in the hospital,” he added.

Call it “irreparable loss” in a declaration on X on September 28, The actor-political announced that he would give 20 Lakh to each family who has lost a loved one and 2 Lakh for people injured.

Earlier, CM Stalin had announced that the government would give the ex-fatty of 10 Lakh each for the dead victims, and 1 lakh will be given to injured people.

PM Modi has announced the compensation for 2 Lakh to the family of each victim and 50,000 ₹ to injured victims.
