Karur Stampede: TVK district secretary Mathyiyalagan is arrested

The Tamilaga Vettri Vettri Karur West, the secretary of the district of Karur West, led by the actor-polician of Vijay, was arrested as part of the jostling during the gathering of the president of the party, the police announced.

The secretary of the Karur West district, VP Mathyiyalagan, was one of the three TVK office deputies appointed in the FIR in the jostling which occurred on September 27 in which at least 41 people died and 60 injured.

The secretary general of the state of TVK, Bussy Anand and the deputy secretary general of the party, Nirmal Kumar, are the other two deputies of the party offices appointed in the FIR.

Mathyiyalagan was recovered near the Karur-Dindigul border, an official announced on Monday, September 29.

The three TVK officials were reserved under articles 105 (guilty homicide that did not rush to murder), 110 (attempt to commit a guilty homicide), 125 (endangered the lives of others) and 223 (disobedience to order), from Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Article 3 of the 1992 law on public property of Tamil Nadu (prevention of damage and losses) was also oriented against them, said a police officer.

According to the FIR, the head of the TVK, Vijay, “deliberately” “reached Vellusamypuram late in the Karur district, leading to overcrowding and agitation among the people, gathered to attend his rally on September 27.

He also said that TVK party officials did not regulate their executives or have not taken into account police warnings against overcrowding.

“The frames perched at the top of the tin leaves and trees of trees, throwing caution in the wind, fell on people standing below and, therefore, much choking, leading to an abnormal situation,” said the police in the FIR.

The toll in the jostling rose to 41 Monday, September 29, a 60 -year -old woman succumbing to her injuries in a hospital.
