Jordan Dumais scores brace in Mooseheads win over Armada
BOISBRIAND, Que. — Jordan Dumais scored twice as the Halifax Mooseheads beat the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 3-2 on Wednesday.
Dumais, a third-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022, scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season to bring his total to 24 points on the campaign.
He is second in QMJHL scoring, behind Justin Gill of the Sherbrooke Phoenix and his 26 points.
The five-foot-9 winger, who finished third in scoring in 2021-22, scored his first power-play goal to double the team’s first-period lead to 2-0. He then restored the two-goal lead when he scored in the second period to make it 3-1.
Mathieu Cataford opened the scoring for the Mooseheads (7-1-2) as Mathis Rousseau stopped 35 shots in the win.
The Nova Scotia club ranks second in the Eastern Conference, behind the Quebec Remparts (10-1-1).
Alexis Gendron and Brayden Schmitt, late in the third period, sparkled the red light for the Armada (6-6-0). Charles-Edward Gravel blocked 20 shots.
