Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the luxury branch of Tata Motors, pointed out a 24.2% drop in annual sliding in large to 66,165 units for the quarter from July to September.

Retail sales amounted to 85,495 units, down 17.1% in annual shift, the company announced on Tuesday in an update.

JLR said the volumes have been affected since the beginning of September by a recent cyber-incident, as well as by the end of the inherited Jaguar models and American incremental rates.

The Range Rover, the Range Rover Sport and the defender models represented 76.7% of the large by the quarter, highlighting the continuous demand for high margin SUVs of the brand.

“In the first two months, our performance was robust and aligned with expectations, despite the planned end of inherited Jaguar models and the effect of additional American tariffs,” said JLR CEO Adrian Mardell.

The company said that all the markets had been affected during the quarter, the United Kingdom struck the hardest due to the combination of the end of the inherited Jaguar model and the September cyber-incident.

JLR had already faced challenges earlier this year, displaying a decrease of almost 11% of quarterly sales in July, partly following a temporary break in shipments in the United States following the Trump administration prices on imported vehicles.

As part of its gradual restart, the production of engines and battery will resume Wednesday, alongside key sections of the solihull vehicle production plant, including the bodywork workshop and the painting workshop. This will see some of the 33,000 JLR employees going back to work.
