Jill Biden says Joe ‘does fine’ after positive COVID-19 test

First lady Jill Biden has said President Biden is « doing well » after testing positive for coronavirus.
“My husband tested positive for COVID. I spoke to him a few minutes ago. He is fine. He feels good. I tested negative this morning,” she told reporters before touring a public school during a visit to Detroit.
She said she would continue with her schedule.
“I am, per CDC guidelines, I keep the mask on and so would like to come in and see the program here,” Jill Biden said.
His comments came just over half an hour after the White House announced that the president, 79, had tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning and was experiencing « mild symptoms ».
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the president started taking Paxloid.
“As per CDC guidelines, he will self-isolate at the White House and continue to fully perform all his duties during this time. He has been in contact with White House staff members by phone this morning and will participate in his scheduled meetings at the White House this morning by phone and Zoom from the residence,” the White House said in a statement.
