The Aquaman actor and The Cosby Show star – who together have daughter Lola, 14, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13 – announced their separation in a joint statement shared on Jason’s Instagram page.

The couple – who married in 2017 – explained that even though they have separated romantically amid the COVID-19 pandemic, “the love between (them) continues”, and they want to give the example to their children by freeing each other.

The statement said, “We have all felt the pressure and changes of these transformative times… A revolution is unfolding – and our family is no exception… feeling and growing because of the seismic changes that are taking place. And so – We share our family news – That we separate in marriage.

“We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy – but so that – as we lead our lives, we can do so with dignity and honesty.

“The love between us continues, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and experienced. We free each other – to be what we learn to become…”
