Irish farmers strip down for the calendar to showcase ‘something authentic’

The 2023 edition of the Irish Farmer Calendar has been unveiled, as have plenty of bare chests across the Emerald Isle, including Gaelic dudes from Offaly, Mayo, Dublin, Wicklow and Kilkenny.
Labeled « Agri porn » by Irish TV’s Ryan Tubridy, the schedule isn’t just a monthly parade of chiseled abs and cheekbones.
« They’re a mix of different body types, » creative director Ciara Ryan told the Post. “Not all of them are big and buff gym bunnies. They do agricultural work and people like reality. They get something authentic.
Indeed, these men, some of whom were named by their girlfriends, are in their natural element posing topless with goats, rabbits, sheep, and even an alpaca. In December, Santa Claus makes his first appearance. And one shot shows a shirtless man doing a handstand next to a stall of horses while another has a piece of ginger cuddling chickens.
The calendar includes farmers like Gaelic dudes from Offaly, Mayo, Dublin, Wicklow and Kilkenny.
“It’s not just about being sexy. There’s also a bit of humor,” Ryan said.
And fans will have double the fun this year for the price of 12.99 euros.
“This year the calendar is a special edition that features 23 images instead of the usual 12 images. It’s been a treat for fans so far and we’re seeing new orders arriving every day from all over the world.
The calendar shows a variety of body types.
« Not all of them are great gym bunnies. They do farm work, and people like the real thing, » creative director Ciara Ryan told The Post.

The first orders for 2023 came from Japan, Switzerland and Finland, but they have a large base of regular customers around the world, from the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Brazil, from continental Europe, Hong Kong and South Africa.
The timeline has been shot in 4 locations over the past 2 years, primarily Cornstown House, Ashbourne, Co., and has been around since 2009.
The 2023 calendar will feature 23 images instead of 12.
« It’s a sweet reminder that we rely on these guys for food. Farmers are always needed, » Ryan said.

And while he’s been hugely popular at times beating One Direction, Conor McGregor and Justin Bieber on the schedules, Ryan said there’s a deeper message.
“It’s a sweet reminder that we rely on these guys for food. Farmers are always needed,” Ryan said, adding, “They are an essential and important part of life. »
