On Friday, Padraig Harrington nailed the final hole at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club to take the lead in the 2022 Shaw Charity Classic.
The 50-year-old Irishman had three birdies on the front nine of the par 70, 7,086-yard course before adding another birdie and a clutch eagle on his back nine.
Triplett started his first round of the three-day, 54-hole event on the back nine and birdied and eagled on his first two holes. He added two more birdies on his back nine to finish alone second at 65.
Paul Goydos and Robert Karlsson have both carded rounds of 66 and are tied for third, while Matt Gogel and John Huston are a shot off 67.

Despite missing his last two holes, Alan McLean of London, Ont., finished top Canadian with less than 2. He is tied at 12 for seventh place, just one shot ahead of Stephen Ames, member of Canadian golf hall of famer and former Calgary resident, who birdied his last two holes to shoot 69.
Mike Weir of Brights Grove, Ont., and Dennis Hendershott of Brantford, Ont., both shot tied rounds of 70 to finish tied for 26th.
Meanwhile, Aurora, Ont., native David Morland IV finished well behind the leaders at 5 of 75.
