Intel plans to publish technical details on its next laptop chip on Thursday, known as Panther Lake, told Reuters four informed sources of the project. This is part of an effort to reassure investors on the first product of Intel fully manufactured using its new generation manufacturing process called 18A, sources said.

Panther Lake fleas are the company’s high -end mobile processors that are generally included in more expensive laptops and are the first high volume Intel products to use the 18A process that the company has spent billions to develop. Partly because of manufacturing difficulties, Intel has gradually given up market share to laptops and PCs to compete with Advanced Micro Devices. Panther Lake represents an opportunity to reverse some of the losses.

The company organized last week of the hours of technical briefings and factories in Arizona for analysts in the sector on the new microarchitecture of Panther Lake, including detailed explanations on graphic hearts and central processor and its multimedia engine, according to sources. Intel has unveiled a redesigned AI engine and the company’s efficiency and performance processor hearts, which have been redesigned for the 18A manufacturing process.

The latest generation laptop chip called Lunar Lake was mainly manufactured by its Intel rival, Taiwan Semiconductor manufacturing.

Intel leaders said Panther Lake fleas are available in early 2026, according to sources. The new chips consume 30 % less energy than the previous generation, and their central graphics and processors will benefit from a 50 % increase in their capacity to process data in certain situations, according to a second informed source of fleas.

Technical briefings organized last week for a group of analysts and journalists stressed the importance of Panther Lake’s success for Intel, which had trouble making cutting -edge fleas.

An Intel spokesperson said that the company organized technical information sessions in the fall most years on various subjects, but refused to comment more.

In July, the flea manufacturer announced a loss of $ 2.9 billion in the second quarter and revealed that if he could not find a client for his future planned manufacturing process of the 14A, he would suspend work on it. After US President Donald Trump called for the resignation of the CEO of Intel, Lip-Bu Tan, in August, Intel attracted investments from the SoftBank group and Nvidia.

After Tan met Trump and other managers at the White House, the administration concluded an agreement to transform a subsidy granted under the Chips law into a participation of 9.9 % in the company.

Last week, as part of the information sessions, Intel organized a visit to journalists and industrial analysts of its factories in Arizona, including one called Fab 52, the sources said. Intel inaugurated the FAB 52 in 2021 as part of the global expansion plan of several billion dollars of the former CEO Pat Gelsinger to compete with TSMC in the manufacturing sector under contract.

The Fab 52 houses the Intel internal manufacturing process of Intel, which includes a new transistor design and a method allowing more effectively energy to the chip. The tour was aimed at demonstrating the Intel manufacturing prowess and showing the flea plant, or manufacturing plant, which it will use for large volume manufacturing of Panther Lake fleas. Reuters did not attend this tour.

Intel leaders have not discussed Panther Lake’s current yields, nor the number of good fleas that Intel is capable of producing, according to sources. Reuters reported in August that during the summer, Panther Lake’s yield was around 10 %, compared to 5 % at the end of last year.
