Indian rupee hits record high against dollar

The Indian rupee hit a record low on Tuesday, amid a strengthening dollar and growing global investor aversion to owning risky emerging market assets.
The currency crossed 80 during trade in India but closed at around 79.95, according to the Reserve Bank of India.
