Arrest documents filed by Pennsylvania State Police in Monroe County Court said 28-year-old Bryan Christopher Kohberger was being held for extradition in connection with a criminal homicide investigation at the base. of an active arrest warrant for first degree murder issued by the Moscow Police Department and the Latah County Prosecutor’s Office.
The arrest was made in Monroe County, northeast Pennsylvania, law enforcement sources told NBC News.
Police Chief James Fry has scheduled a press conference for 4 p.m. ET when he is expected to reveal more details about the November killings that stunned the small college town.
Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, were killed Nov. 13.

Autopsies showed that all four were probably asleep when they were attacked. Some had defensive wounds and each was stabbed multiple times. There were no signs of a sexual assault, police said.
In the weeks that followed, authorities in Idaho received more than 20,000 tips, but had no suspects.
One of the main objectives was to find a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra spotted in the immediate vicinity of the house where the students were brutally stabbed to death.
It is not known if the vehicle is related to the suspect in custody.
The stabbing deaths rocked the small town of Moscow, Idaho, a farming community of about 25,000 people — including about 11,000 students — nestled in the hills of northern Idaho’s Palouse region. .
