Houston traffic death: Freeway 90 pedestrian struck and killed by 18-wheeler, says Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez

CROSBY, Texas (KTRK) – A man died Thursday when he was struck by an 18-wheel truck on a highway in northeast Harris County.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the crash occurred in the US 90 and FM-2100 area just outside Crosby.

“An adult pedestrian, struck by an 18-wheeled vehicle, was declared dead at the scene,” a tweet from Gonzalez read.

Authorities later confirmed that the victim was part of a debris clean-up task force in the area.

US 90 is closed just east of FM-2100. It is not immediately clear how long the road will remain closed.

SkyEye on the scene spotted the large platform stopped on the side of the road.
