Hintz agrees to 8-year, $67.5M contract extension from the Stars


FRISCO, Texas — Center Roope Hintz has agreed to an eight-year, $67.5 million contract extension from the Dallas Stars.

The agreement unveiled on Tuesday will take effect next season and will bind the two parties until 2030-31. Hintz will earn an average annual salary of $8.45 million.

In five NHL seasons, Hintz played in 261 games, scoring 88 goals and adding 106 assists. The 26-year-old Finn set career highs with 37 goals and 35 assists last season.

This season, he has eight goals and 24 points in 22 games.
