UFC fans are sure we’ve seen the last of Conor McGregor in the Octagon, amid Dubliner’s acceptance of a ban for violating the UFC’s anti-doping policy.

Smacked with a retroactive 18-month suspension, former two-weight champion Conor McGregor has accepted a ban resulting from a failure to appear on three separate occasions to submit drug test samples to CSAD.

To be sidelined until March of next year, however, McGregor would be eligible to compete at the UFC’s White House event in the summer, on a card he has been clamoring to compete on for weeks.

However, fans on social media are convinced that this latest setback for the 37-year-old will bring a complete end to his illustrious run in combat sports.

Fans claim Conor McGregor will never fight in the UFC again

Hoping to feature on a monumental card at the White House in June next year, McGregor has been heavily linked with a grudge match against former title challenger Michael Chandler at the event.

But with his future once again uncertain amid this anti-doping policy violation, fans believe McGregor is destined to miss out on an overdue return to the octagon.

“Oh yeah, he’s (Conor McGregor) definitely never fighting again,” one user posted on X.

A second user speculated McGregor’s recent stance on not using social media came in preparation for the release of the news regarding his stay with CSAD, writing: “Bro fires off social media right before this news broke.

A third user sounded his hope that he would return to action as soon as this event in Washington, pointing to the end of his suspension in March, posting: “Would make him eligible just in time for the White House event in June.”

Another commenter claimed that the aforementioned Chandler should probably get comfortable with the idea of missing another clash with McGregor after their failed pairing at UFC 303 last summer, writing: “Someone check Chandler. Dude thought for a second he was actually going to get his match.”

One user also pointed out the eligibility date for McGregor’s return coming three months before the White House’s flagship card, writing: “Very convenient eligibility date. Definitely not performative b——-.”

UFC asked to bypass Conor McGregor fight at White House

Hellbent on presenting at the top of a stacked summer event – which UFC boss Dana White has promised will be one of the best in promotional history – McGregor has been asked to skip the card.

Expressing skepticism the promotion needed him to feature – as well as former heavyweight champion Jon Jones – a decorated ex-champ assumed the event would be a breeze without either.
