Grand Canyon North Rim visitor slips and falls to death

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. — A man has died in Grand Canyon North Rim National Park and his body has been recovered, park officials said in a statement Saturday.

Rangers found his body about 200 feet (61 meters) below the rim near the park’s Bright Angel Point Trail, the statement said. The 44-year-old was off the track when he accidentally slipped off the edge on Friday afternoon.

He has not been identified. The National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating.
