Montgomery, ala. (WRBL) – The governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey, alongside students and mascots, representing the University of Alabama and the University of Auburn, proclaimed on October 6, 2025 as “ Beat Bama Food Drive ” and `Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Day ” in the state.
Governor Ivey’s office says food training is annual efforts that students from the University of Alabama and the University of Auburn participate before the Iron Bowl.
The event managed by the students was created in partnership with the Center for Service and Leadership and the West Alabama Food Bank in 1994. The Drive Drive aims to provide food to Alabama families in need.
On Monday, the east food bank of Alabama went to their social networks saying that the Beat Bama Food Drive had already collected almost two tonnes of food thanks to neighborhood collections and the Auburn Kroger store.
Those who wish to participate in training can fill bags with non -perishable food such as canned items, drinking cases, pasta, soup, rice, snacks, toiletries and more. Articles can be given to Auburn Kroger.
