‘Freedom convoy’ organizer Pat King to appear in Ottawa

OTTAWA — “Freedom convoy” organizer Pat King is due in Ottawa court on Wednesday for a bail review.
The comeback follows the abrupt and unexpected halt to his bail review in April when his lawyer’s computer appeared to have been hacked.
Since then, he has hired a new lawyer to fight for his release and defend him against a growing number of charges.
The day after the hearing ended abruptly, the Crown announced that it would bring additional charges of perjury and obstruction of justice against him.
Details of the testimony that led to the allegations are protected by a publication ban.
Pat King was arrested on February 18 on charges related to his participation in the three-week protest against health restrictions on the streets of Ottawa.
