François Legault suspends his election campaign


The chief caquist, François Legault, suspended his electoral tour because of the hurricane Fiona which seems to be heading towards the Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

Mr. Legault said in the evening that the hurricane seems to be heading straight for the archipelago.

“Under the circumstances, I have canceled my planned activities tomorrow and suspended our electoral tour until further notice,” he said on social media.

Mr. Legault is in Quebec with Deputy Prime Minister Geneviève Guilbault, who is also Minister of Public Security.

“We are thinking of the people of the Côte-Nord, the Gaspésie and the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, wrote the chief caquist. the hurricane Fiona seems to be heading straight for the Islands. We hope for the best, but the whole government is ready. »
