On Wednesday, Fox Entertainment Studios (FES) and HarperCollins Productions revealed a very unique first development deal. This is a reciprocal deal, meaning the Fox studio will have the first chance to adapt material from HarperCollins – its Avon A brand, to be precise – and will give Avon A the first opportunity to publish literary adaptations of FES shows and films.
Or, to be more eloquent: “Together, the companies will create a powerful, continuous content pipeline that flows seamlessly between book and screen,” reads the press release. “The result is a dynamic creative exchange designed to energize storytelling and extend intellectual property across all mediums in bold ways.” »
So eloquent — it’s almost as if a HarperCollins author wrote it. (No shade to our friends Fox PR.)

The companies plan to co-produce a series of projects with HarperCollins Productions executives, led by Caroline Fraser and Jennifer Contrucci, who will serve as non-writing producers “to ensure creative continuity from page to screen,” the announcement continues.
