Florida man Zachary Sibert tries to evade police by ‘playing frog’ on busy highway

A Florida man bumped into oncoming traffic on the state’s busiest freeways in an attempt to avoid chasing officers during a traffic stop.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department, Zachary Sibert was driving at 110 mph and driving with a suspended license when he « decided to play Frogger. »

In the video released Friday by Brevard County police, Sibert felt that avoiding high-speed cars and trucks was a better alternative than jail.

The 29-year-old immediately jumped out of his car onto I-95 before fleeing into Buffer Preserve, which is 5,026 acres in total.

« The good news is that Sibert yelled ‘I’m sorry’ at our deputy as he ran off and while he was a courteous criminal, he wasn’t very smart, » the sheriff’s department said on Facebook.

Sibert was captured when he allegedly offered to pay the driver to drive him around the highway area. Deputies arrested him after he was found hiding in the backseat of the vehicle.

Sibert faces multiple charges, including driving with a suspended license and resisting without violence. The Vero Beach native’s bail is set at $1,500 and is due in court in December.

“I guess he forgot he was in Brevard County where we are pursuing and tracking you down if you run away from us, to his surprise our officers were still in the area and located Sibert,” it reads. on Facebook.
