Flair Airlines plane pulls off runway at Region of Waterloo Airport


The Region of Waterloo International Airport has been closed to commercial traffic and the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) has been deployed to investigate after a Flair Airlines plane ran off the runway while landing on Friday morning .

A spokesperson for Flair Airlines said flight F8 501 from Vancouver to Kitchener-Waterloo “left the runway at the end of its landing”.

The airline says no injuries were reported and the passengers were taken to the terminal by bus.

There were 134 passengers and six crew members on board the Boeing 737.

According to a flight tracker, the plane landed around 6:25 a.m.

Region of Waterloo International Airport will be closed to commercial traffic for the remainder of Friday, the airport said. As a result, other Flair Airlines flights, as well as two West Jet flights were cancelled.

TSB investigators arrived at the scene around 9:30 a.m.
