Five-year contract extension for Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Right-hander Luis Castillo agreed to a five-year extension with the Seattle Mariners on Saturday.
ESPN has advanced the amount of $108M for the pact.
Acquired from the Cincinnati Reds on July 29, Castillo is 3-2 and has a 2.83 average with his new club.
In nine starts with Seattle, Castillo struck out 64 and allowed 13 walks.
His overall record in 2022 is 7-6, with an average of 2.85.
The 29-year-old Dominican has been a star player in 2019 and this year.
The agreement covers from 2023 to 2027, with an option for 2028.
