The Regina Fire Department says it is at the scene of what it calls a ‘major explosion’ and posted a photo on social media showing a badly damaged home that appears to have been lifted off its foundation.
The department posted a tweet on Sunday saying the explosion happened at the corner of 6th Avenue and Retallack Street, and that police and emergency services are also on the scene.
The tweet says possible injuries have been reported.
Police are asking people to stay away from the scene.
The fire department says it will provide more information as it becomes available.
A number of people on social media said they heard and felt the explosion in other parts of the city.
This report from The Canadian Press was first published on November 13, 2022.
