Financial assistance from Quebec for Christmas markets

Funding of $479,500 has been granted by the Government of Quebec to the Grand Circuit féérique de Montréal, which runs until December 31.

« Christmas markets are one of the events that enrich the tourist offer of our regions and improve the local economy, » said Minister of Tourism Caroline Proulx.

This financial assistance should enable Montreal’s tourism industry to recover from the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A sum of $10,000, through sponsorships, is also granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Its minister, André Lamontagne, affirms that this funding will make it possible to “highlight our rich terroir”.

Since November 19, the event offers three different Christmas markets:

• The Great Christmas Market in the Quartier des Spectacles

• The Atwater Market Christmas Village

• The Jean Talon Market Christmas Market

This year, a story around Santa’s elves will be staged across the three Christmas markets.
