Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) commends President Donald Trump for his “historic peace plan” between Israel and Hamas, emphasizing that he and Trump have a “common ironclad commitment to Israel.”

“I congratulate @POTUS on this historic peace plan that frees all hostages,” Fetterman wrote in a statement. job on

Fetterman’s statement comes after Trump announced in an article on Truth Social that Israel and Hamas “have both signed the first phase” of a peace plan.

“This means that ALL hostages will be released very soon and Israel will withdraw its troops along an agreed-upon line as the first step toward a strong, lasting, everlasting peace,” Trump wrote in his message. “All parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT day for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, all surrounding nations and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkey, who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedented event happen.”

Trump’s message on a peace deal between Israel and Hamas comes after he announced Saturday that Israel had “agreed to a proposed withdrawal line” and that once Hamas agreed, a ceasefire “would be effective IMMEDIATELY.”

“After negotiations, Israel agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we showed and shared with Hamas,” Trump said at the time. “When Hamas confirms this, the ceasefire will IMMEDIATELY come into effect, the exchange of hostages and prisoners will begin and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us closer to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE. »

The day before, Trump issued an ultimatum to Hamas, giving it 48 hours to respond on the proposed peace deal.
