Family members are appealing for any information that will help them locate a 76-year-old man who has been missing for almost a month.
Antonio Madeira was last seen between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July 12 in the Winona Drive and Mulberry Crescent area near Bathurst Street and St. Clair Avenue West.
The man’s son, Michael, said his father may have had dementia, but has not been diagnosed.
‘It appears that for some reason he hasn’t been seen anywhere you think he would be,’ said William Bolton, a lead trainer for advanced technical training in search and rescue who helped the family. in research. He says that although they have scoured the area, they still believe he hasn’t strayed too far from where he disappeared.
“There’s a good chance he’ll go around in circles. He’s obviously lost, so we’re trying to keep him within a local proximity of just a few miles from his home.
Bolton adds that they also plan to extend the search to the city centre.
“Someone like that is going to stay somewhere they don’t usually go.”
Madeira is described as five-foot-five, weighing 150 pounds, and with a slim build. He has a tanned complexion, hazel eyes, short bald white hair, and a full white beard.
He was last seen wearing possibly a dark or black jacket, light khaki pants, white or light-colored shoes, and a baseball cap.
The family told CityNews Madeira worked in construction and called on people working in the industry to look for him, as he occasionally wanders to local sites to see what they are working on.
