The preparations for the assembly elections of the bihar intensified. The chief commissioner of the Gyaneh Kumar elections is likely to visit the Bihar after September 30, accompanied by all the commissioners in the elections, to examine the preparation of the state survey, News18hindi reported. This indicates that the electoral dates could be announced at any time after September 30.

The report suggests that the list of final voters will be published as a result of the intensive special revision (SIR) of the electoral lists on September 30. Shortly after, the election commissioner should visit the Bihar and announce the voting calendar.

The electoral commission plans to hold the elections of the Bihar Assembly between Durga Puja and Diwali, with a vote likely to take place between October 2 and 29. This time, the elections should be carried out in two to three phases, according to the report. Political activity has intensified, the parties preparing for polls and discussions already underway on the selection of candidates.
In 2020, the electoral commission announced the electoral dates of the Bihar assembly on September 25, with surveys held in three phases and counting on November 10. The Bihar assembly has a total of 243 seats. Currently, the NDA has a majority, although its strength has decreased compared to 2020.

The National Democratic National Alliance has 132 deputies and the Mahagathbandhan opposition has 110 members in the Assembly.
