City police are looking for witnesses to a dog attack in central Edmonton that sent a woman to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries last week.

Around 3:30 p.m. on July 4, officers responded to a report of a dog attack at a bus stop near 111 Avenue and 109 Street. The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) said a 63-year-old woman was reported to be standing at the bus stop on the west side of 109th Street south of 111th Avenue when she was bitten by a « large breed gray dog ».
Police said the owner and dog fled the scene on foot, heading west through an alleyway just south of the bus stop.
Several people waiting at the bus stop provided medical help before emergency medical services arrived, treated and transported the woman to hospital.
EPS continues to investigate and is seeking to speak to those who provided medical assistance and anyone who may have witnessed the attack.
