Investigators from the Organized Crime Investigation and Coordination Division – Montérégie, in collaboration with police officers from the MRC Jardins-Napierville police station of the Sûreté du Québec, carried out three searches on Wednesday, June 22, including one in a residence and in two vehicles, in connection with drug trafficking in Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle.
This police intervention follows an investigation undertaken following information received from the public. The operation also led to the arrest of two 43-year-old men. They have been released and are expected to appear at a later date in connection with drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
During the searches, the police seized 92 grams of cocaine, 230 grams of cannabis in bulk as well as the sum of $47,500 in Canadian currency and equipment intended for the production of narcotics. In addition, a vehicle was seized as offence-related property.
