Drivers endure near-record gas prices during 4th of July trip

Americans still pay close to $5 at the pump. That won’t stop them hitting the road on July 4, analysts say.

The average price of a gallon of gasoline on Friday was $4.84, down from $3.12 on the same day last year, according to data from OPIS, an energy data and analytics provider.
