Dr Sanjay Gupta on the mysteries of chronic pain

Recent research on chronic pain, which afflicts millions of Americans, has led to a surprising source: the brain. The host of “Sunday Morning” Jane Pauley speaks with Dr. Sanjay Gupta (a neurosurgeon and chief medical correspondent for CNN) about his new book, “he does not have to hurt”, and on the defenses of the body against pain. She also speaks with the musician of Heavy Metal Ed Mower, whose experience of several decades with complex regional pain syndrome (or SDRC) led to revolutionary surgery and treatment.
