A man was shot dead in an underground car park in Scarborough on Friday evening.

Toronto police said officers responded to a building near Birchmount Rd. and Sheppard Ave. E. around 5:30 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot.

The victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, but his identity was not immediately released.

Homicide detectives are investigating.

The man is the 70 in town^e murder victim of the year and the 44^e shot dead in 2022.
