Dave Grohl Bursts Into Tears During Taylor Hawkins Tribute Show: ‘A Gigantic Fucking King Night For A Gigantic Fucking King Person’

Dave Grohl kicked off what promises to be an emotional musical day at the start of the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert at Wembley Stadium in London.

As NME reported, Grohl took the stage alongside fellow Foo Fighters Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee to present the star-studded tribute to Hawkins, who died in March at the age of 50.

“Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we have gathered here to celebrate the life, music and love of our dear friend, bandmate, brother, Taylor Hawkins,” the Grohl told the 90,000 fans gathered. for the show.

β€œFor those of you who knew him personally, you know no one else could make you smile, laugh, dance or sing like him,” Grohl added. “And for those of you who admired him from afar, I’m sure you all felt the same way so tonight we reunited with his closest family and friends, his musical heroes and his biggest inspirations to bring you a gigantic f**king night for a gigantic f**king person.

In one of the show’s most emotional moments, while performing the 2003 song “Times Like These,” Growl broke down in tears.

The tribute concert will feature a who’s who of special guests, including Liam Gallagher, Mark Ronson, Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age, Supergrass, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, Travis Barker of Blink- 182, Eagles’ guitarist Joe Walsh, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, Kesha, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and many more.
