But what they were looking for was not as important as why they were looking.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada organized the event to support people living with the disease.

The Halloween-themed scavenger hunt has expanded to Saskatoon after starting at Black Fox Farm and Distillery.

The event started in 2020 as a way to give families something to do during the pandemic.

« It seemed like the perfect opportunity for us to be able to hang out and stay in your family bubbles and be able to hang out and support a good cause, but actually get out of the house and have some family fun, » Janice said. Daniels, one of the organizers of Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada said it is the most common fatal genetic disease, affecting more than 4,300 Canadian children and young adults.

There’s no known cure for them, but Daniels said fundraisers like this can help find treatments and work for a better future.

“Just last year, we had a life-changing miracle drug that, thanks to research and funding, is now available for people with cystic fibrosis,” Daniels explained.
